Summer Learning Academy & Enrichment
Each year the Laconia School District offers a 5-week summer learning program for students K-8.
This year the Laconia School District Summer Learning Academy (Kindergarten - 8th Grade)
will be held from July 8th, 2024 - August 9th, 2024.
This program has been called many things over the years, and is often still referred to as Summer School for the morning session and then Project Extra or the REAL Initiative, or The Learning Lab for the afternoon sessions, but to keep things consistent and simple, last year, I coined it as the Summer Laconia Academy.
The structure of the program contains a morning classroom learning component, followed by afternoon enrichment activities. The program runs from 8:05-3:00 pm.
We offer transportation, a nutritious breakfast, as well as a lunch at no cost to families. This program is funded through the Nita M. Lowey 21stCCLC grant.
We place students who are recommended to the program first and then we will open up the remaining spots to the public. Applications for the summer program will become available late spring. Space is limited and does fill up extremely fast. We accept applications on a first come first serve basis, using a computer-generated timestamp.
If however, you do have a special circumstance that you would like us to consider, please reach out to Joanne Allen, Director of Extended Learning ([email protected]), as we will take that into consideration. Online applications will be distributed through a link on ParentSquare or you can click here for the , once it has been made available.
